About

Glacier Ridge Chalet is a two story style home and built on an acreage on Hudson's Bay Divide Ridge overlooking St. Mary Lake. The home is located on a scenic overlook point on land settled by Jack Wagner in early 1900's. This home is unique and hand crafted in the Babb/St. Mary area. Amazing local wildlife that will make it feel like your own private Zoo. The highlight is a hot tub with a 270° view of Glacier Park, Chief Mountain and dark sky for star gazing and contemplation.

Good to know

The Glacier Ridge chalet has 3 rooms that can sleep 8 with the downstairs bedrooms with a twin bunk over the lower queen beds. The chalet is kid and animal friendly. The upstairs area is a handcrafted wood with seating for all guests with 300° of windows that allow viewing of the entire Babb/St. Mary Area. There is a small upper deck for animal viewing and star gazing. The chalet is located in a Dark Sky zone allowing for incredible start gazing and occasional viewing of the North Lights to the North in late summer. The adjacent neighbor offers both trail riding or ATV adventures. Glacier Ridge is 1/2 mile down a private road from the renowned Duck Lake Lodge. The lodge has additional a full restaurant, Pizza oven and road house bar with local entertainment a few nights a week. Glacier ridge is located 3 miles outside of Babb and 7 miles outside of St. Mary. Cellular coverage is by both Verizon, Rogers/Fido and limited ATT.

Kitchen has condiments, spices and typical kitchen appliances. We will have cans of bear spray and a few warm jackets a available for guest use. There is some canned food and common condiments for guest use.

We had a wonderful stay at this chalet in Babb. The pictures do not do it justice, you truly get the best view of East Glacier right from the property. The location is excellent, with quick access to the park. While most restaurants in the area were closing for the season, the kitchen was perfect for cooking meals, and the beds were very comfortable. The chalet itself was adorable and private, with incredible sunrises and sunsets to enjoy. The hot tub was amazing after long days of exploring, and we appreciated the host’s flexibility with an early check-in. There was also plenty of bear spray provided, which gave peace of mind. One thing to note is that there were a lot of flies, we vacuumed up what must have been over 200 during our stay. Thankfully, the central vacuum system made it easy (and even kind of fun) to deal with. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this spot for anyone looking to stay on the east side of Glacier.

Beautiful cabin, private, and awesome views!!! Perfect spot for us while on the east side of Glacier NP. Jonathan is very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend and will definitely stay here again when we come back to the park.

We stayed at Glacier Springs while we visited Glacier National Park in August. The Airbnb had stunning views from the property looking out at the national park. The property was quiet and peaceful and I loved that! Wish we had more time to just hangout at the Airbnb. My favorite thing to do was sit outside enjoying the views. Photos don’t capture how amazing the views were. My husband and I walked the trail that Jonathon suggested and I highly recommend you do that. The top part of the trail has giant rocks and great views to see all around. My teenager loved using the hot tub every night after hiking. Probably the cleanest Airbnb I’ve ever stayed at and I’ve stayed at many! Jonathon provided thoughtful touches at his property like extra bear spray, binoculars, a recipe for huckleberry buckle dessert, a large telescope for viewing the night sky, lots of games and books, and even sunscreen. Hope to visit again with our family.

A very impressive property! The views are stunning and the wildlife was a joy to watch… there was even a Moose spotted on the way to the Chalet! Our Family of 6 had a week we’ll never forget. The Host communication was excellent and the Chalet had everything we would need for preparing home cooked meals. The Hot tub was a great bonus after long a day of hiking. Thank you Jonathan for a wonderful stay!
