Glacier Ridge Chalet is a two story style home and built on an acreage on Hudson's Bay Divide Ridge overlooking St. Mary Lake. The home is located on a scenic overlook point on land settled by Jack Wagner in early 1900's. This home is unique and hand crafted in the Babb/St. Mary area. Amazing local wildlife that will make it feel like your own private Zoo. The highlight is a hot tub with a 270° view of Glacier Park, Chief Mountain and dark sky for star gazing and contemplation.

Good to know

The Glacier Ridge chalet has 3 rooms that can sleep 8 with the downstairs bedrooms with a twin bunk over the lower queen beds. The chalet is kid and animal friendly. The upstairs area is a handcrafted wood with seating for all guests with 300° of windows that allow viewing of the entire Babb/St. Mary Area. There is a small upper deck for animal viewing and star gazing. The chalet is located in a Dark Sky zone allowing for incredible start gazing and occasional viewing of the North Lights to the North in late summer. The adjacent neighbor offers both trail riding or ATV adventures. Glacier Ridge is 1/2 mile down a private road from the renowned Duck Lake Lodge. The lodge has additional a full restaurant, Pizza oven and road house bar with local entertainment a few nights a week. Glacier ridge is located 3 miles outside of Babb and 7 miles outside of St. Mary. Cellular coverage is by both Verizon and Rogers/Fido.

Other Details to Note

Kitchen has condiments, spices and typical kitchen appliances. We will have cans of bear spray and a few warm jackets a available for guest use. There is some canned food and common condiments for guest use.

We had a great stay here. Secluded cabin on a mountain, but still 15 minutes from GNP east entrance. Beautiful views, adorable horse neighbors, and a very responsive and helpful host!

This location was truly one of a kind!! So happy we chose to stay here for our family's getaway. Highly recommend if you want peaceful, beautiful surroundings! We spent most of our days hiking in Many Glacier. We were here in the off season, so not very many people or restaurants open, but ultimately liked that, very refreshing!!! Made great memories here!!! Thank you for being a great host!

This is one of the best places we’ve ever stayed. The pictures do not do the views justice- and you can see them out of just about every room. Majestic is an understatement! Easy access to Many Glacier, St. Mary, and the Canadian border. Jon is an amazing host and was proactive in telling us what to expect this time of year in Montana. Stargazing from the hot tub was a highlight (dark sky area) and we were lucky enough to spot moose close to the cabin. We are counting down the days until our next opportunity to stay here!

Jonathan made our first trip the Big Sky Country amazing! His home is beautifully designed to give you the best of both function and stunning views. We particularly loved the loved hot tub, especially at night where we stayed warm and could see the Milky Way. When we visit Montana again, we’ll certainly be booking with Jonathan again.

Glacier National Park has been on my bucket list for years so when my husband entered memory care my friends Carol and Jack from MS agreed to join me traveling from ME. This is a unique property in an idyllic setting. Elk herd 200’ away on our first morning, a peak reminiscent of Mordor standing guard on the western horizon viewed from the hot tub, and complete privacy. Chef’s kitchen well furnished with spices, condiments and staples, that we took complete advantage of. Comfortable beds, nice linens, great entertainment modalities, full Wi-Fi, cozy furnishings, optional pellet stove, outdoor fire pit, the works. Groceries are 11 miles south in St Mary with organic vegetables and all the necessities. You’ll need to be sharing this abode with special contacts as the master BR is separated from the two story vaulted dining room by a curtain and showering is downstairs in the single full bath, neither of which presented issues for us. Jon is ready to please and amenable in every way.

We loved glacier ridge!! It was beautiful and peaceful—a wonderful refuge after busy hiking days. Jonathan was so helpful and responsive. He went beyond by coming over to help with the TV. ALSO, the hot tub was amazing!!
