At 4800', the Aurora is has the highest elevation of any rental available that overlooks the St Mary Valley. The view of the Rockies from the upper deck and the 360 degree view of the forest canopy cannot be accurately captured by the pictures. The word "Aurora" translates to an natural electrical phenomenon or the Goddess of Dawn. This name was chosen as it reflects both the frequent observation of the northern lights and well as the incredible sunrise as it illuminates the mountain with the dark valley below. It has unique vantage point of the Eastern Rockies as a viewed from the West side of St Mary Ridge. With 2 cozy bedrooms including 2 queen beds, 1 full size futon, and 1 optional twin air mattress (for living area upon request). This fantastic property is perfect for families or friends looking to unwind. Enjoy the comfort of 1.5 bathrooms equipped with all amenities. The home has a small wall mounted AC unit in the upstairs bedroom only. Typically, the house can be cooled down in the evening naturally from the high mountain elevation and window ventilation. The home interior is entirely crafted with wood giving it a peaceful rustic feeling. The large kitchen and laundry use the most modern LG appliances and most all cooking amenities than you would have at home. I enjoy cooking at home with friends and family rather than going out to the few crowded and expensive restaurants in the St Mary Valley. I am not saying the local restaurants are bad, I am saying once your arrive, you will not want to leave. The living area has a 55" TV which will hopefully ease your pain after conquering Iceberg Lake, Grinnell Glacier or the Highline trail. . Another highlight of the home is the 14" flagstone fire pit to view the Milky Way or occasional Aurora Borealis. The sky here is unlike any place you have been. Glacier National Park is a designated International Dark Sky Park, a certification awarded in recognition of its commitment to preserving darkness.
